Clearance Instructions
Every volunteer must complete all applicable clearances in order to be eligible to teach or help in a classroom.
Please NOTE: FBI Criminal Background Check is only required for PA residents of less than 10 years.

Pennsylvania Criminal Record Check

1. Select New Record Check (Volunteers Only)
2. Follow the instructions
3. Click the "Certification Form" to access your result certificate
4. Next, export the result certificate as a .PDF and email to Claudine@Advancepgh.org.
You can also print your result certificate and give it to Claudine Walters.

Step 1: Select Create Individual Login - Create a Keystone ID
Step 2: Login with your NEW Keystone ID to complete the Child Abuse Clearance
Export your digital result certificate as a .PDF and email to Claudine@Advancepgh.org.
You can also print your result certificate and give it to Claudine Walters.

FBI Criminal Background Check
(with fingerprinting)
ONLY for PA Residents of LESS than 10 consecutive years
1) Click to Begin
2) Schedule an in-person appointment using the volunteer code: 1KG6ZJ (using this code, the clearance cost is $22.60).
3) At the site they will perform a fingerprint scan of all ten fingers, and the scan will be sent electronically to the FBI.
4) You will receive the results in the mail within 4-6 weeks.
5) Take a photo of your results and email to Claudine@Advancepgh.org.
